The patron of the kenku is one of the more interesting deities in the AD&D game, because he’s not terribly comfortable having the responsibilities of godhood that have been thrust upon him. This isn’t exactly a rare situation, however; what makes Quorlinn different is that he was never a mortal like most of those who share those feelings. Shargaas the Night Lord
July 27, 2012One of two loners amongst the orcish pantheon, Shargaas the Night Lord is master of those acts that are best performed in darkness, the underdark, and darkness in general. A number of his portfolios overlap with other deities in the pantheon and this leads to many conflicts, although Gruumsh’s power typically keeps those in check. He relishes thievery, murder, and assassination and is the patron of those professions in orcish populations.

Squerrik the Ratlord
March 24, 2011Time for another deity write-up; this time it is Squerrik, the Wererat god. Upon reading through what had been written on wererats and Squerrik himself, I was surprised no one had drawn upon some obvious folk mythology. So I decided to add it in. :) I also modeled some elements of the priesthood and culture after aspects of rats themselves, since it seemed fitting.
